. Targis made no demands, just executed a prisoner and cut the transmission. The Imperials have commandeered a Republic outpost and got the entire area locked down and they were prepped to fend off any frontal assault. Every day Targis executed another prisoner to bait a reaction out of the Republic. Republic tried to save the prisoners, but just have lost five squads while trying to stop Targis. At last Republic Command had decided to cut losses and, officially, declared that they were abandoning the prisoners - but secretly the Command authorized Sergeant Keloh to task a team of elite operatives.jpg) | Republic OperativesOrganizationTemporary Unions |
with a rescue operation. Keloh briefed the operatives on the situation, adding that even in war, there were rules and codes of conduct, and Targis spat on all of them. He warned them that they would definitely go into a trap. Promising that they would free the prisoners, the operatives mounted their speeders and went to the Whiterock Wastes region where captured outpost was located.The operatives arrived at the outpost and made a quick reconnaissance. The outpost was well guarded indeed - operatives counted more than 30 imperial guerrillas - troopers, sentries, commandos, specialists and tacticians - both males and females. , each of them was closely watched by 3-4 Imperials. Seeing no way to carry out the rescue undetected, the operatives engaged the Imperials. The Imperials fought back, but the elite operatives were more experienced and skilled, and the Imperials died one by one. Captain Targis joined the fray, and for a while the opponents were evenly matched. But while Targis was as well trained as the operatives, his soldiers weren't - and he soon fell along with the remnants of his soldiers. The operatives released all the prisoners and returned with them to the Aurek base. Sergeant Keloh was very pleased and deeply thanked the operatives. |
